Intimate understanding of indian traditions, psychology, way of life and language. Best able to create learning environment suited to the habits and interests of the indian child. Sm"algyax teachers work collaboratively with fluent speakers to provide language classes. Network of fn artists, dancers, musicians, and other skilled community members. Any teacher can request role models to engage students in activities. Classroom role models provide opportunity for students to have experiences with fn adults. Eg. story telling, carving, painting, drumming, dancing, singing. Need to be positive and proactive in developing transformation. Language learning and creating a print form for a language that was traditionally not written are vital to the process of building community. Demonstrate role that print media can play in how people construct a sense of community.
