Statistics are not the same as data common usage: the collection, compilation, and communication of date scientific usage: Statistics are an important tool in science probabilistic tool, allow the placement of confidence bounds on results, allow predictions to be compared quantitatively . You could compare two levels, more than two levels, multiple levels through time, two factors and their interactions, etc. Many types of differential statistics t-tests, confidence interval comparisons, analysis of variance (anova), analysis of co-variance (ancova), repeated measures anova (through time), and non-parametric statistics there are multiple ways to do most of these. The program ri is useful for statistic analysis.
