Children"s lit lecture one (slides are online) Literature tends to insert a moral of some kind into their writings. People who usually write children lit are pretty strange people sometime. Literature or books are commonly known for some escape of reality - in an awful lace and wants to go where the sidewalk ends. You can use a narrative to escape reality kids use fairy tales not for moral lesson but to deal with what is going on in their lives. Used hansel and gretel not for beating a witch but for a strong sibling relationship. Quickly children lit becomes complicated because adults will read books a certain way and differently from other parents kids know things that do not, understand things that adults do not. Children are not just simple adult, they are complicated beings! Kids have things that adults don"t, and we are usually told to the opposite. Adults are simpletons adults are unimaginative.
