Cindy lei commited suicide by over dosing on sleeping pills: said to be upset over the closing of the college. Rochdale college was an atempt at a free university: completely run by students. Conlict from that decade is ongoing: quesions around morality. Revoluion is sill with us today: dramaic changes in aitudes towards sex, gender and the role of women. Thought there would be a return to normalcy ater the great depression. Noions of womenhood in the 1960s held on to the tradiional roles of women as wives, housewives, mothers, and consumers: baby boom women didn"t want this at all. The image of women was unrealisic; ideal diicult to achieve: many women worked, and the expectaions were too repressive. Hidden from society, they would have been atacked: it was a crime; homosexual acts were criminal acts. Seen as similar to the threat of communism: people fear the unknown.
