Designed to monitor world trade and organize world trade processes to make trade freer between countries and promote international trade level playing field. Trade uniform across countries member states of wto treated the same. Trade grew faster than production after wwii. Was founded on the idea that countries and companies should take advantage of their comparative advantage.
