Turning to advertising, we will then examine several common advertising ploys used by corporations in an effort to get you, the consumer, to by their product. But the term mass media" actually derives its name from the size of the audiences these organizations reach, whether it be through television, radio, print, or more recently computers and the internet. The mass media thus includes any and all print or electronic media designed to inform entertain or persuade large audiences. Amongst the mass media are thus included sitcoms, talk shows, news programs, music videos, movies, magazines, newspapers, cd"s advertisements, novels, textbooks and much more. The term media" or the media" is also often used to refer to the people who produce or contribute to media creations including journalists, news anchors, and performers.
