Ball = a round play thing or a fancy party. Someone aware of weakness remains vague to hide the lack of substance to their listeners. Vagueness is relative and/or is difficult to locate on a spectrum. A set of characteristics possessed by everything in the extension of the word. E. g ram; the primary connotation is that a ram is a male sheep. A loose set of characteristics associated w/ things in the extension of the word. Words that specify how many or much. Canadians like hockey generalizing all even though not every canadian does like hockey. Persuasion relied on power of words(or images) alone, in the absence of good evidence. Appeal to novelty = buy something new e. g apple. Appeal to pity- to inspire guilt to motivate donation for charity. Spin; presenting facts that strategically benefit a person or party. E. g we live in a red house near the lake.
