Negaive evaluaion of people in a disinguishable group, based solely on their membership in that group: afects, feelings, judgment. Modern prejudice = hidden/ covert: need to observe actual behaviours. Unjusiied acion towards members of a group, simply because of their membership in that group: behaviours, acions. Generalizaion about a group in which idenical characterisics are assigned to virtually all members of the group, regardless of actual individual diferences: cogniion, beliefs, ideas, schemas, can be negaive and posiive. Shapes processing of info via conirmaion bias: noice, remember, and interpret info in way consistent with the acivated stereotype. Cogniive process, where persons/simuli are perceived as belonging to various groups/ categories: automaic/eicient, universal, necessary/adapive, prejudice is an inevitable consequence (?)
