Living with someone before you get married vs the bible. Average cohabitation is 2 years: research shows that usually after/within two years, people either get married or break up. 2 people can live together cheaper than 1 person can. People are younger and living together today. A test of the relationship: are you messy, see all sides of the person, get to know them better, practice marriage . Who is living together: us census buread findings. Reason why some people live with someone and don"t marry them is because they aren"t sure about the person. People who cohabit and then marry are more likely to divorce after: lots of conditions that affect this result. Women see living together as a step before marriage. Men see living together as a trial before marriage. No evidence that co habitation improves marriage. Further risks of co habiting: lower self esteem for women, correlated with domestic aggression, poor communication because of lack of commitment.
