Some social work roles are generic and others have more specific fields of practice. Macro systems: roles in community development and social policy. Micro, mezzo and macro systems: roles for all levels of practice. Think of ethical dilemma, in which one of the 6 values conflict with another. Some examples of fields of practice include: These fields of practice determine what kind of a role you will play in social work. The roles are specific to the field of practice you are in are called specialist roles: Generalist (and specialist roles) also depend on micro, mezzo and macro levels of practices. Enabler - empowering others, working with clients rather than for clients. Agreed upon goals and objectives, structed by both worker and client.
