Micro direct practice with individuals (clinical enviro. ) Macro working with organizations or communities to improve or change laws or policies (advocacy to change a policy) The first rule of critical, anti-oppressive practice is that we cannot simply blame marginalized individuals for their experiences of hardship and suffering. Some key concepts/ideas when learning about social welfare: Globalization corporations, free trade, out sourcing (negative aspect) [looking for the cheapest cost to make a product] Social welfare client as customer/consumer use this term to reflect a business sense and gives us the idea of choice which can lead to negative affects such as blaming the individual.
