ARKY 1000 Lecture 16: Why Did Things Change-
Document Summary
We look at things on a large time scale. The question can be why don"t we have egyptian pyramids anymore, or why do we build them in vegas over as tombs for our. So much of what we are using to explain the change comes from different theoretical models that archaeologists use to explain such changes. They are not meant to be exact things that capture all circumstances. They simply forms of reality, in order to make things more easily understood. Models are not right or wrong, just more or less suitable in relation to the questions you are asking, or the times that you have. These are models that issue any change has been caused by another group moving in. This was a common explanation from about 1900 - 1960. People assumed anytime a new thing appeared, it was because a are group came in and brought a new thing.
