Culturally and socially constructed: getting into the work world, and providing for self or others, what we define as adolescence with age are also subjective i. e. emerging adulthood due to advances in technology. Recognized in almost all cultures as an important and distinct period of life. A fairly new term and period of life, started in the early 20th century. Many filters or lenses that are to be considered i. e. biological age, physical, sexual, familial, psychosocial, interpersonal, educational, social. Cognitive development development of ego, and the development of the idea of self. We exist within systems and focus on one lens will reduce the importance or consideration of others. This is a new development because of economic and social contexts. Extends the dependence of the individual. (cid:498)adult(cid:499) is a word that was created.
