Document Summary

Cup 1 (completely full): someone who believes they know everything they need to know about teaching and have nothing to be taught. Cup 2 (half full): someone who has some knowledge about how to be a good teacher, but is just uncertain about certain situations or ideas. Cup 3 (empty): somebody who does not know too much about teaching and has very limited knowledge of how to be a good teacher. Teaching is very complex, always changing and very different depending on the situation/ class. As a student and a teacher you should always remember the halo effect. Halo effect: you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Make a good first impression, and make it count. This allows for a sense of randomness and allows students to not feel targeted. Always allow a student to pass in order to allow them to feel safe. Proximity closeness to students, walking around the class.
