It produces the high and low sound efect. When a character has a deep voice, it is associated with power and authority. Deep voices can also be associated with evil or duplicity. Characters who have high pitched voices are associated with weakness. The harmonic component of sound that gives it a color or tone quality. Sound that works against what we see on the screen. When the dominant sound at the end of one scene carries over into the next scene. It connects/bridges two or more shots, and establishes coninuity of place/ acion/ ime. The priority given to dialogue, since it is considered the most important sound. Anything that the characters involved in the story can experience. The sound has a source in the story world. The sound has a source coming from outside of the story world. Has a physical source in the scene. Comes from inside of the mind of the character.
