Not because they did not have the technologies : the west had a necessity to do these things , the natural sources of raw materials needed to respond to new technologies and fuel them, Affects how we live as individuals, groups, moral compass, individual values, : social and psychological aspects , urbanization creates a sprawl that moves the city outward! Creates problems that people need to learn to deal with ! Renaissance: 1400 - 1600 - italy, northern europe ! Late modern/ postmodern - 1950s/60s - present! are we are in can be called post modern, or post post modern ! Modernism: 19teens - 1940s/50s - a style ! Pre-modern world: we do not know the answer to a lot of these questions but can make assumptions by looking at artefacts, etc. Individuality? probably was not about the individual like it is now ! Limited production & simple products . ex/ how to carry water !
