Hpi: june is a 75 y/o female who presents to the family medicine clinic for a follow up on her osteoporosis. She reports that she has been constipated for the past week and would like you to recommend a laxative for her. June is a pleasant woman, not in distress. Denied chest pain or sob just finished a course of oral corticosteroid for copd exacerbation. She eats whatever her daughter-in-law cooks, doesn"t like milk, but likes yogurt and cheese. She used to be going once per day, but now she is straining and going every 3 or 4 days. Let"s ask her about her bones and her op. She"s had op for about a year, she has had a bmd check and her t-score was -3. 5. D. she has no been on a bisphosphonate before. Biggest risk for having a break is having a previous break. We can use frax or coroc to asses fracture risk.
