How different periods historically violence in sport comes about for different reasons either instigated, or reproduced and reinforced. London reporting of a stick and ball game being played. Both women and men playing, a form of icetennis, not exactly hockey, but do have skates on and have a net. While women played these games, it was still only the upper class women, who had the time and money to play these games. Ice hockey was slow to disperse in eastern canada because it was played more at a local level, and played outdoors, and in the winter, travel was far more difficult, so hard to travel between co(cid:373)(cid:373)u(cid:374)ities to play. First indoor hockey game was played, official game with official rules. Important because it had pre-established rules, played for 60 minutes, score was recorded, number of players was 9 vs 9, there was goalies, referees, and used a puck and not some other object = first formalized type of game.
