Child must display at least 6 symptoms from 3 categories: inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivitiy. Fails to give close attention to details. Doesn"t seem to listen when spoken to directly. Avoids or dislikes tasks that require sustained concentration. Fidgets with hands or feet/ squirms in seat. Runs about or climbs in inappropriate situations. Is often on the go acts as if driven by a motor , talks excessively. Blurts out answers before questions have been completed. Interrupts or intrudes on others (butts into convos or games) Pa is a useful form of reinforcement for individuals with adhd. Pa helpful to improve classroom calmness and attention in classroom. Prior to pa, boys with adhd observed calm in 5-10% intervals. Followings shaping and pa, boys with adhd were observed calm in 100% intervals (azrin, vinas, and ehle, 2011) May occur for a number of reasons.
