Post ww2 the us has been in the state of rivalry with rst the soviet. For a few years, prior to china"s rise the us was the undisputed champion of the world. The states has lost a lot of prestige due to the destruction of iraq and the arab spring uprising. This transferred to the state of syria and lead to the current humanitarian crisis, all because of the us invading iraq in 2003. The us is in a downward spiral, as this election goes to show. (the donald being racist af probes won"t be great for international relations. He also quested the nato treaties (the most powerful defensive organization in the west, mainly if a member country is attacked they will defend that country) while other countries are fearing the destruction of nato. But that is one of the strongest link between the eu and north. Without the us, nato would lose a lot of the repower behind them. )
