Cognitive therapists are focused on outcomes and use objective measures to test if treatment was successful. People"s maladaptive and irrational believes can affect both behaviour and emotions. Maladaptive thoughts can make real life tough and lead to anxiety and depression. Cognitive theory recognises these maladaptive believes and replace them with more realistic ones.
