Curve tracing is slower for complex curves and curves with close neighbours. Select region around starting point that includes just the line youre looking at (not the other) Size of region determined by nearest line: move region as far as possible, (larger regions you can move farther (move along the line in fewer steps)) Complex figures slower because regions have to be smaller. Representations have visual properties but are not images: operations proceed in small steps (incremental) Ask people how detailed their images are, more details seem to correlate with higher performance. Correlates with range of imagery tasks: may be related to activation of visual brain areas.
