Span is number of items that can be repeated in order. Often, capacity of phonological loop related to articulation rate: capacity has to do with duration, how long does it take you to do some repitition. Span greatest for short, simple materials; lower for longer items. Span is about what one can say in 1. 8 s. Retention of spatial information is independent of verbal information: raw visual information. Verbal and visual processing don"t interfere with each other: phonological loop doesn"t affect vss. Verbal load has little effect on whole report: brooks interference tasks. Start a one corner of t" (or block letter), traverse t in clockwise direction, decide whether each corner is convex or not. A stich in time saves nine and say yes if the word is a noun and no if it isn"t.
