Vitamin b is known to help improve memory in those who have been in a major trauma and those who have alzheimer"s disease. Area of psychology that seeks to understand how the brain affects behaviour. Less than 80% of mice/rats are used in animal research: 14% of fish are used in animal research, 1% of cats, 3. 7% birds, less than 1% on primates. Evolutionary continuity: comparative approach, cerebral cortex vs. no cortex, behavioral comparisons. Fundamental brain-behaviour interactions: simpler brains and behaviour. Depending on the experiment, animals are more expensive to use: housing, taking care of them, food. Early research on the evolution of the human brain focused on size. This research was stimulated by the assumptions that brain size and intellectual capacity are closely related.
