We need the intricate web of living things in order to continue our survival. However, others believe that we can create human laws of nature, that we can supplement nature with our own inventions. If we begin to interfere with things that we do not understand, things may come back to bite us. The comparison is made to the law of gravity, that it cannot be repealed as it is true and has been proven. The question then arises about whether or not the laws of nature are true as well. Major players in the film: the government, chemical industries, the public, scientists (some support racheal carson, other refute her position, the media. The whole issue begins when pesticides are sprayed over a bird sanctuary and a large mortality rate ensues. Carson was not the person that discovered the issues with these pesticides.
