Leisure is a unique meaning attributed to specific social occasions created by individuals involved through interaction with objects of the occasion. Interacting people - how are the people going to interact with one another: situation activity system, physical settings, structure, leisure objects - ex. Soccer - ball, reff, teams - key leisure objects shaping the experience: relationships, animations - how we want someone to flow through our program, each elements is interdependent - each will have rippling effects onto others. Experience economy: outcome vs. process of consumption - trying to engage participants in a process, meaningful and extraordinary, authentic. Absorption - just taking in what"s going on - walking into a movie and watching the movie - daydreaming. Immersion - soulful experience - walking through a forest - sights, smells, sounds. Active participation - engagement - customer creating their experience - improv comedy setting.
