The saga of king hrolf kraki: part 1. 5th and 6th dynasty- claim to be from odin. Hrolf and his associates found in other ancient herotic poetry. Probably written in the late 14th century. Survives only in younger paper copies- 1600"s. Saga comprises a number of basically independent stories. Hrolf does not enter the saga until the story is well underway, two of the saga"s six stories convern him. In many ways, hrolf overshadowed by his champions. The brothers who have to leave to not be killed. Seeress that is questioned to find his nephews. Female protagonist who is usually cruel and arrogant. Mistreat their suitors, have no interest in marriage. They will marry and their husband gets their kingdoms. They are mistreated in their marriage, wooing in marriage. Rejection of a lover and revenge of the rejected. She puts a sleeping thorn in his ear, shaves, tars him and puts him in boat.
