Functional illiteracy: can read signs but not understand books. Socialization: becoming the person who you are and thinking rethinking your identity. Cultural innovation: new knowledge for yourself not necessary phd. Social integration: getting people on board inside of society - thats why we have textbooks, standardized tests, gpa, curves. Make everybody comply with the needs of capitalist society: work fast, multitask, etc. Being fostered into the same kind of people (sameness) through those ^ This is excellent for capitalism: as employers we know this crowd is obedient, can multitask, etc. On the other hand the whole system because it produces sameness, it defeats its own purpose. Plain in the labour market, cannot think outside the box, cannot challenge. Put people in boxes and organize them in hierarchy.
