Media has great influence over what issues we"re exposed to and how they are presented and interpreted. Is not a neutral or "accurate" reflection of "reality" It plays a role by shaping our assumptions of how things are, can be and should be. Done for a particular objective; purpose behind it. We need to ask critical questions about the media. Achieved through advertising: both a form of and a vehicle for media. Who or what is trying to convince you or inform you. Do yo already have an opinion about what is being discussed. Brand recognition: trade marking and positive association with that brand or product association with that brand or product. It becomes a point of commonality that is taken for granted; we assume that everyone has the same knowledge about lego.
