The image is a studiously crafted personality profile of an individual, institution, corporation, product, or service. Idealization- people acting as if they live up to idealized social standards: positive = giving off a glowing public persona, negative = downplaying non-idealized attributes. Mystification- the process of covering/hiding undesirable or non-ideal aspects of a persona; it crafts a blind spot in perception that abets a thicket of unreality. Experience economy- brands and organizations producing staged experiences in order to attract consumers mystifying the capitalist consumption. Self-fulfilling prophecy- the p(cid:396)o(cid:272)ess (cid:271)(cid:455) (cid:449)hi(cid:272)h people"s e(cid:454)pe(cid:272)tatio(cid:374)s lead the(cid:373) to eli(cid:272)it behaviour that confirms these expectations. These expectations influence how we act toward that person (we tend to seek info that supports our views) We form expectations about what another person is like. Our behaviour may lead the other person to act in ways consistent with our expectations.
