This lecture ties in to what the textbook says, as such its a highly recommended to read the corresponding textbook notes ) Globalization is an interesting phenomena because it sees itself differently from. Since it encompasses various issues, it doesn"t primarily concern itself just about military concerns, or state as the only relevant actor, as international relations often does. For the purposes of this class, it doesn"t really matter as much. Politics is simply what arises when individuals have to deal with each other. There are politics in the family for instance. So its important to understand that politics is not just about security, and this often where other theories may clash" Realists tend to hone in more on security issues, whereas other school of thoughts, believe that is inadequate. The main take away from this that politics should not be narrowed to simply military and security. Referred to the transational cooperation model- by nye and kehane in the textbook.
