Chatper 3 the lazy controller (controller = system 2 = conscious mind) System 1: automatic, can"t be turned off, bad at stats, will use memory to help us with intuition (but the memory with the most emotion) intuition. System 2 only has so much effort to allot to any number of given takes. Children who can exert better self control as a child have better self control as adults = better control of system 2. Bat & ball problem: you will feel really correct about it and it"s not until you think about it you realise your wrong. Equivocation: use of ambiguous language to conceal the truth or to avoid committing oneself; prevarication--- shifting from one meaning of the work to another argument, hoping that the listener will not notice. Its has been said that of all the animals only man is rational therefore sine women are not men, only men are rational.
