Mass tourism: activities which place great stress on the environment due to large numbers of people; sensitive to changing global markets. Alternative tourism: involves types of activities that begin to place some focus on (cid:494)object(cid:495) for pursuit of the activity and more as the (cid:494)subject(cid:495) of the experience. Ecotourism: defined as an activity that involves traveling to remote or environmentally sensitive areas with the specific intent of studying or admiring the unique environment.
