Concept mapping: a concept map should generate ideas, design complex structures, communication complex ideas, assess/identify (mis)understanding, integrate knowledge, and portray ideas/relationships visually. Human behaviour theories: maslow"s hierarchy of needs. Abraham maslow"s organization of human needs arranged hierarchically with basic physiological needs at the bottom and self-actualization needs at the top. Two major groups of human needs: (1) deficiency needs and (2) growth needs. Deficiency (basic) needs: physiological such as food, water, and sleep, and psychological such as affection, security, and self-esteem. Growth needs: personal development that is usually prioritized after basic needs are met: physiological, safety, love/belonging, esteem, actualization. Effective motivators (i. e. leaders) can emerge from correctly identifying where a person is located on the scale (i. e. middle class person at range 4 versus a person in poverty at stage 1) Have better perceptions of reality and are comfortable with the perception. Focus on problems outside themselves and are concerned with basic issues and eternal questions.
