Flirting motives: men see flirting as more sexual than women, women view flirting as part of promoting a closer relationship, and fun. Flirting competition: what happens when multiple people want the same person, mate derogation: making one"s rivals less appealing intelligence, calling competition boring. Men and women: spread rumours, derogate the competitors. Men: focus on derogating competitors financial resources, achievements, and strengths. Women: focus on derogating competitors attractiveness, and sexual fidelity. Charmers, who are arrogant, conniving, and will scheme their way to personal gain, regardless of who they may hurt.
