FRHD 2260 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Depth Perception, Crossmodal, Unimodality
Document Summary
Crawling position but lack skill of alternate extension of arms and legs. Infant walkers delay walking (visual cue of crawling on floor is blocked by the tray) *important to use muscles than to be in a position to walk. Creeping: creeping leads to better crawling better coordinated. Better to see real 3d objects than tv. <6 months, easier if object is moving. >6 months, can infer object properties and depth from picture. 7 months use visual cues for depth. 4-6 months, specialized combo of hand, mouth and vision. After 6 months, hand movements to detect info about object. Able to recognize difference between simple melodies. Sub stage 4: coordination of secondary circular reactions. Kicking mobiles: 3 months have 2 week memory, 7 months have 21 day memory. 3 months needed exact duplication, 7 months less context dependent. 9 months can judge object too big for x. Concept of number: i. e. puppet jumping 2 vs. 3 times.
