December 1, 2015 contemporary social issues: housing and caring for an aging population. 75. 6 million people by 2030 will have dementia care facility for people with dementia - supported living facilities. 6-7 residents live in each with supportive staff - live like a family there is a restaurant, grocery store, music hall, theatre, courtyard. 7 different lifestyles - different for each of the dutch lifestyles - people will be matched by their background. Design layouts and decorations support each lifestyle re-enacts cultural differences through the different lifestyles - that"s why the houses are different allows for the residents to feel more at home, more comfortable, because the environment is recognizable. Nursing homes are responsible for health care of residents - there are many potential hazards that can be seen in the houses. Even as people forget their senses remember.
