Tokens are used as a means of inluencing behaviour. Individuals can exchange tokens for backup reinforcers: token is a symbol of what a person can acquire b using that token have to be easy to use in order to reinforce behaviour. Can be given immediately thus suitable for situaions where actual or backup reinforcer is not convenient/possible. Can be exchanged for a wide range of reinforcers (can appeal to many people) Can be used generously used in situaions where somebody needs a lot of reinforcing. Used in a wide array of seings schools/mental health/psychiatric wards. Teaching family model (like a group home: tokes for good behaviour, self-government system, normalizaion, ongoing evaluaion of individual"s performance \ Decide on target behaviours: start with one and build success (successive approximaions?) Idenify if assistance is needed, then obtain it. Behavioural excess: children having too much screen ime too young. Frhd 3150 week 10: people eaing too much bad food.
