Metis create provisional gov: louis riel chosen as leader of the metis. Drew up bill of rights outlining demands and rights of metis canadian settlers attempt to overthrow that; metis capture them: thomas scott (a protestant orangeman) captured, he has very little thought for the french speaking, catholic metis. Orangemen often irish and opposed to catholic ireland (greens). Riel created a metis court and tried scott, & executed for his behaviours in 1870.
