Out of saprotrophs arouse necrotrophs and out of necrotrops rose biotrophs: saprotrpths eating things but cant eat dead things, some of the organisms develop ability to damage and kill plant material resulting in necrotrophy. Problem with necrotroph is you have to kill everything, biotrophs developed to try and prolong the interactions with the nutritional source. Evidence supporting this is specialization, sap are least specialized, necro are a bit more specialized, they cant kill all host material but have a pretty wide range, bio are most specialized they are limited to one species. Eco nutritional diversity means advantage to organism that have a wide range of food sources so they have many options (more advanced trait) Bio are highly specialized so have limited host range. Sap have have highest level of eco nutritional diversity.
