This public dissemination video is attempting to catch the attention and outreach towards college students who are learning how to cook. This demographic is particularly vulnerable towards intercepting foodborne illness due to their behaviours surrounding food preparation and consumption (booth et al. , 2013). This public dissemination intends to inform college students about the most common foodborne illnesses, how they are contracted and how they can be prevented. One study found that college students daily spend between 8 - 10 hours on mobile devices, signaling the influence of the social media platform on lifestyle adaptations (goodrich, 2014). This study provides strong grounds of approval in making a short video to get the message across. The brief length, simple language and demonstrative nature of the video make it a foreseeable approach in spreading the awareness of the videos take home message through social media platforms, that are inclusive to facebook, instagram and snapchat.
