Socrates believes poets are dangerous because they are liars and are not fit to be teachers for guardians. From childhood to 18, they must be trained in music and sports. From 18 to 20, they receive physical training and do military service. From 20 to 30, they learn mathematics including geometry, calculus, arithmetic. From 30-35, they must study dialectics or pure theory.
