List: if legislature had 100 seats every party prior to election publishes list of candidate (100) Pick 23 people from the list (sit in legislature) everyone else loses. People elected from list depends on how many seats each party wins ex. Green party gets 23 seats (party gets to elect 23 people), blue party gets 8 seats (selects 8 people) Voter has (cid:374)o i(cid:373)pa(cid:272)t o(cid:374) (cid:449)hi(cid:272)h (cid:374)a(cid:373)es are o(cid:374) the list or ho(cid:449) they"re ra(cid:374)ked. Netherlands and brazil use open list system. Get a lot of votes = move up in rankings, get small amount of votes = move down rankings. Electoral threshold: minimum threshold set that a party has to achieve in order to get any seats in legislature. If parties are above threshold the seats get redistributed to that party and taken away from parties under the threshold. In poland individual party need to receive 5% of the votes to get seats, coalition parties need 8% of voters.
