Non democraic: many non-democraic regimes that hold elecions regularly. Not fair, outcome is pre-determined, they hold them to make it fair". By holding fake elecions, one thing they are trying to do is by holding staged elecions, that you can make it look it like you are making it fair so that the people think they have input. Holding staged elecions are used to send a message, to domesic and foreign opponents. Since second world war it has become a used thing. Interest aggregaion: aggregate all the 28 million diferent interest into something more pracical. How people vote: you cast you vote in private, either counted by hand or machine. Having a secret ballot, you yourself how to vote. No one else will know what you voted, you could tell people otherwise. So you can do what you think is best, so nobody can challenge you on the vote, because they will never know how you voted.
