New zealand: also known as developed countries, industrialized world, the north, the first. Post-industrial: developed economies that maintain a high-technology or high-value economy. The three worlds concept emerged ater wwii: first world: advanced industrialized naions, second world: communist naions, third world: neither advanced nor communist. Third world came to describe a very large and diverse group. Third world as residual category that has litle meaning.
