School of social science: modern science is our vehicle to knowledge and truth. Proceed by observation: if you can"t verify something through observation, you dismiss it. Science gives you facts and descriptions: can"t say if something is good, normative fallacy, science must be value neutral, which cannot be compatible with political philosophy. Historical interest, not of any use today. Political life: operate primarily on opinion, belief, non-philosophical. Political philosophy: the quest for wisdom, truth, knowledge, effort to discover truth, political philosophy seeks to replace the opinions of political. Life with knowledge: this makes for a necessarily antagonistic relationship. Socrates was a shit disturber: they straight up murder his ass for it. Not all political thought is political philosophy, but all political philosophy is political thought: political thought is not a discipline; it is pretty much just thinking and talking about philosophy.
