Video: after stonewall, 1999, first run icarus films: how did people experience the change after stonewall, what changes were imagined by the liberation movement after. Gay liberation front was established: drag queens, lesbian feminists, truck boys, meetings were unstructured and chaotic. December of 1974 psychiatrists no longer defined homosexuality as a sickness. Bathhouses were clean, social, could go sit and talk. 1974 elaine noble was the first openly gay women to be in the legislature. 1975 time magazine put it"s first gay man on the cover. Lesbians and gays came together a year after stonewall with a political march. Could come out of the closet and into the streets. In the 70"s the gay culture was more about getting laid not changing the world. Women split off because a lot of the guys were insensitive: who"s going to go get me a cup of coffee . I was not a monster, i was not alone .
