Reduced need for a rep sample bc as long as the factors that make them different don"t affect the things we are looking at: can be different in age, political standpoint, and religion if none of these are important factors, only becomes a problem when age causes a diff reaction from one group to another, psyc processes work the same way for everyone, don"t need rep samples, other factors that are similar are required, one variable"s effect on another only looking at, experimental research good at isolating the effect of one independent var things that affect the variables in finding group similarity, precision matching, what is imp based on dependent var and their expected rcn to experimental stimulus, match people based on relative factors.
