Anova comparing multiple sample groups: anova analysis of variance. It can be understood as a compare means test for multiple groups. Independent variable nominal or ordinal, k>2: dv interval/ratio. Monday march 6th, 2017: why not conduct compare means test, we would have to conduct many tests. In this case, a total of 6 (compare lpc-cpc, lpc-ndp, lpc-other, cpc- 3 tests for 3 values on iv, 6 for 4 values, 10 for 5 values, 15 for 6 values, etc: we would be conducting partial investigations. We want to know whether there is a relationship between these two variables, not whether there are significant differences between some of the groups. Steps in anova: anova offers a solution to this problem.
