*physical proximity plays a large role in attraction and relationship formation. *we like others who are similar to us: classical conditioning. Pavlov"s dogs (pair the unconditioned stimulus with the conditioned stimulus to get the unconditioned response) eventually you will get a conditioned response from a conditioned stimulus. If a nice meal gives you a pleasant feeling, and then if ronaldo comes there consistently you begin to associate ronaldo with the pleasant feeling (all he needs to do is be there) Either sat in a pleasant room or a room that was too hot; participants were randomly given information to read about a confederate. *confederate was either 75% similar to the participant or 25% similar. *participants then asked how much they liked the person they read about; always liked the similar one, but liked them more in the pleasant room and the room that was too hot. Participants disliked the dissimilar person more when they were in the too hot room.
